The L 1A visa is designed for multinational corporations to dispatch managerial or administrative executives of their companies to branches, subsidiaries, parent companies or affiliates in the U.S. The first application for L-1A visa by a newly-established company in the U.S. can be granted for one year; The first application for L-1A visa by a company established in the U.S. for more than one year can be grant­ed for three years. In both cases, a two-year extension can be applied with total length of stay not exceeding seven years.
